You are always where I am
Yet never where I want you to be.
I’ve seen you… once, twice—
though somehow the distance between once and twice stretches longer than memory cares to admit.
In my world, you existed.
I felt your nearness the way one feels coffee on an autumn morning— warm, stirring, filling the quiet corners of the soul with joy… with fear… with stillness… with something unnamed.
There you are again—
A portrait carved from silence,
A posture painted in patience,
A presence that feels both familiar and foreign.
From the shadows of obscurity
I watch the shape of a mystery I once thought I understood.
In solitude, I feel your nearness; in reality, I lose you— like breath leaving the lungs too soon, a disappointment I exhale unwillingly.
You are always where I am
But never where I want you to be.
Here, next to me.

The plan was simple, capture her essence — the perfect work of art that is her frame, her smile… HER.
With the museum’s sculptures and canvases fading quietly into the background —beautiful, but secondary to the art that was her.
Elegance Among the Masterpieces
The plan was to let her pose for the moment, not for the camera. But like life, photography has a way of reminding you that plans don’t always match reality.
Quiet Confidence in the Garden
So we walked the grounds of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. We talked —
the photographer, an American with eleven months of Spanish, the model a Brazilian fluent in her native tongue and the rhythm of España. The power of language, the importance of education.
The Power in Her Steps
Minutes passed.
The sun drifted lower.
And that perfect, fleeting light —the kind photographers chase across continents began to illuminate everything.
She Is the Destination
The plan was simple, capture her essence — the perfect work of art that is her frame, her smile… HER.
